Mike was raised on classic rock in rural Connecticut, and dove into punk and new wave while doing college radio on WFCS. He worked at WFNX in Boston for most of the 90s, while also spinning at Lansdowne Street nightclub Axis for “X-Night”. When not on the radio, Mike is most likely working on an independent film. He drums in a local Pretenders tribute band ‘Pretendica’, and writes as ‘The Green Dad’ about food issues for Edible South Shore/South Coast Magazine. He’s the Vice President of The Soule Homestead Organic Farm and Education Center in Middleboro. He has 2 kids, a wife, a cat, and 12 chickens. He plays the same Ludwig drum set he’s had since he was 11. Rock!
Aside from being the resident night owl here at ZLX… I can tell you I’ve been cut out of almost every movie filmed in Boston over the last 10 years, I’m a lifelong Bruins fan that has never left a game before the final horn, I’m a movie & TV junkie with an extensive film library that would rival any Blockbuster store (Google it, kids), I enjoy my yearly trips to Walt Disney World, and I can be seen eating & drinking myself silly on the TV show – Wicked Bites.
As for my contributions to radio, I’ll leave you this quote from The King, “I really know nothing about music… in my line of work you don’t have to.” – Elvis Presley

How many radio DJ’s do you know that can save your life? I’m an emergency room nurse during the week…but on weekends, I’m a DJ. Other things I find enjoyable: performing stand up comedy, racquetball, and annoying my wife. Hi mom!
