1963: The Beatles recorded "Twist and Shout" in one take after a marathon recording session at Abbey Road. They also recorded "I Saw Her Standing There" and eight other songs during the 10-hour session.

1964: During their first U.S. visit, the Fab Four played their first U.S. concert at the Coliseum in Washington D.C. Despite eight inches of snow that day, the show sold out. Afterward, The Beatles attended a party at which Ringo had a lock of hair cut off by an overzealous fan.
