Capitol Records Celebrates 75th Anniversary With Vinyl Reissues by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and More

by Alisha Jackson

Capitol Records is celebrating its 75th anniversary in a way that its artists, customers, and employees can all appreciate. No, not with cake (although everyone can appreciate cake).

Starting on November 15th, which the Los Angeles City Council has proclaimed as “Capitol Records Day,” the label will begin its year-long major vinyl reissue campaign — The Capitol Records 75th Anniversary Collection. The collection will feature “75 albums that illustrate the unparalleled artistry of Capitol Records throughout its history,” the announcement reads.

In addition to its vinyl reissues, Capitol Records will release a deluxe photograph and essay book from TASCHEN called 75 Years Of Capitol Records on December 15th, and it plans on releasing a Capitol Records docu-series next fall.

The Capitol Records 75th Anniversary Collection will include albums by The Beatles and its members, Pink Floyd, Heart, Foo Fighters, Steve Miller Band, The Band, and more. For the full list of albums to be reissued, click here.
