Hey rockers, SIXX STRINGS caught up with the KISS “Freedom to Rock” tour at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA a few weeks back, and once again I was reminded that Rock-n-Roll isn’t dead! Even after all these years and all the naysayers…the pulse of the bad boy genre hasn’t slowed one damn bit. I mean just going to a show like this reminded me why I ever wanted to Rock and Roll all Night.
As you all know KISS has been touring “FOREVAAAAHHHH” but when they play now, it’s no less spectacular. Yes, the line-up has changed and they might move just a tad bit slower, but who in the hell can pull off the face paint like that now?! We all have our favorite song from their massive catalog, and I’m sure we all have cried over an ex when “Beth” was played; but there are very few bands that can compare to KISS. Their infamy is all the reason that one needs to catch one of their shows … before it stops for good.
Now this wasn’t just about the iconic legends KISS, as great as they are; the veteran rockers that make up the super-group DEAD DAISIES are hardly overshadowed by the headliner. Made up of John Corabi (The Scream, Motley Crue), Brian Tichy (ex. Whitesnake), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, House of Lords, Dio, Lion, Burning Rain), and David Lowy (Mink), this group came to not just have fun, but to bring the rock back to music, plain and simple! Their recent album “Make Some Noise” will surely make you see it too.
Take a look at the photos from the show, shot by our SIXX STRINGS guest photographers Oliver Halfin and Eric Tier. Make sure to catch a tour stop near you; and remember that this election year, you need to exercise your FREEDOM to ROCK!
