Well John D’ is back at it again! His brand of festival formatted to draw die hard rockers, foodies, craft beer fans, and a multi-generational crowd is once again setting the stage! I mean what would be more fun than a 3 day festival where there is something for every rocker at heart? Well, from where I stand…not a hell of a lot! If that all sounds appealing to you, then let me introduce you to the ROCK CARNIVAL!
Ramping up at the end of this month is a second coming for this New Jersey based festival coined as a family friendly affair. I know I personally think that our youth should be exposed to great music as young as possible! There will be food trucks from over 50 of the region’s best vendors, craft beer offerings from all over the country, carnival rides, fair style midway sections, Pro-Wrestling, and last but not least…down home pig racing! Now you might think that covers the Carnival moniker for this event, but what about the ROCK?! Well the most diverse of taste fans will surely not be disappointed.
The 3 day line up this year (Sept 30-Oct. 2) will feature some of the largest names out there. Legendary artists such as ALICE COOPER, BLUE OYSTER CULT, TWISTED SISTER, and ACE FREHLEY will be joined by ZAKK SABBATH FEATURING ZAKK WYLDE, OVERKILL, JACKYL, CINDERELLA’S TOM KEIFER, SEBASTIAN BACH, DORO, TRIXTER, BULLET BOYS and MONSTER MAGNET. Oh wait, I might have forgotten about HALESTORM, SHAMAN’S HARVEST, 10 YEARS, CLUTCH, THE USED, MONSTER MAGNET, TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION, and DAUGHTRY, plus many more groups on the line up to keep you sufficiently planted in Rock-n-Roll heaven!
Now like most of you out there want to know…”HOW MUCH IS ALL THIS GONNA COST ME?” Well I assure you that this is oriented to all levels of concert goer. There are various ticket packages including single day, multi-day, weekend, family, carnival only, and reserved seating! If you really want to get that ultimate rock-star experience, there are also various Artist MEET & GREET, VIP and SKYBOX seating options too. Like John D’Esposito’s mindset…this festival is geared toward everyone. Now there are plenty of partnered lodging options, but don’t wait till the last second because they are selling out fast!
I had the chance to speak with Steve Brown, guitarist for native NJ group and festival band TRIXTER recently about still being a band decades later, festivals and how to keep making music now. Take a listen and see what he had to say!
Now this will be SIXX STRINGS’ second trip to NJ for a John D’ event and I highly recommend you make an appearance too! I mean where else can you have a family friendly carnival weekend that will ROCK your face off? NO WHERE…THAT’S WHERE!!!
