According to Carter Alan’s Rock N’ Roll Diary for today, on July 29th of 1966, Bob Dylan crashed his triumph 55 motorcycle near his home in Woodstock, New York. He broke several neck vertebrae, sustained a concussion, mild paralysis and some amnesia. It took Dylan two years to completely recover and return to the concert stage.
Or did it even happen?
According to a Bob Dylan biography Carter just finished, Dylan and his manager concocted the whole story of him crashing his motorcycle in Woodstock so he could disappear from the scene, hang out in his house, and write music. Check out the theory in Carter’s Rock Talk video above!
