We here at WZLX already knew Aerosmith would be launching a world tour next year, thanks to our temporary morning show host, “DJ Kramedog”, AKA Joey Kramer. Between the drummer’s confirmation of the tour happening, and Steven Tyler‘s allusion to their next tour being the band’s farewell, we put two and two together and came to the conclusion that next year’s tour will be the band’s last. Now, bassist Tom Hamilton is officially piecing the puzzle together, and calling next year’s tour the “last conventional Aerosmith tour.”
Hamilton sat down with EON Music to talk about his stint with Thin Lizzy, when he willingly commented on the Aerosmith farewell tour rumors. “Well, things have been on hold and I think they’re about to not be on hold over the next few months,” he said. “We have a show, a festival we’re doing in September out West, and then we have a South American tour in October and then a few months later we’ll start what we’re thinking of as pretty much our last conventional Aerosmith tour.”
Fortunately, the tour doesn’t have an end date, or any dates yet for that matter, so fans may not have to miss a thing just yet. “Who knows how long that will go?” Hamilton said about the final tour. “This band still has a lot of shows in ‘em. Aerosmith still has a way to go before we completely finish.”
Hopefully fans can at least find comfort in that.
