Sunday Morning Blues: June 26th, 2016

Sunday Morning Blues began this week with a tribute to guitarist Jeff Beck and drummer Mick Fleetwood, who both had birthdays on June 24th. We did a ‘Yesterday & Today’ set from Beck, whose latest album “Loud Hailer” is in stores and online on July 15th!

Thanks to SMB listener Bill Salter who was deeply influenced by the three-volume “Chicago Blues Today” on Vanguard Records from 1966. The important releases introduced music from Jimmy Cotton (James), Otis Rush, JB Hutto and several more when the blues was in revival all across America. We built a CHOOSE YOUR BLUES list from those iconic records. Thank you Bill!
