Led Zeppelin Reportedly Turned Down $14 Million to Reunite at the Desert Trip Festival

by Alisha Jackson

What could make the Desert Trip festival more epic? Rounding up the divorced bandmates of Led Zeppelin for a two-weekend-long reunion might be cool.

According to Showbiz 411, the festival leaders tried to get Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones on the bill for $14 million, but the rock and roll legends declined.

Columnist Roger Friedman’s source claims that Jimmy Page wouldn’t have turned down the $7 million weekends if it were up to him. “Jimmy went crazy,” the source told him. “He really wanted to do it.” However, Robert Plant was reportedly not on board.

The only thing that has physically brought the defunct band together in the past four years is the “Stairway to Heaven” copyright case that is currently being fought against them.
