SixX Strings: “Live Free or Die” for LaconiaFest

Rock -n- Roll Rides Into Bike Week.

“Live Free or Die” is a statement that seems to signify the American spirit.  Well the State of New Hampshire will be celebrating that spirit and state motto this month with LACONIAFEST.  In association with their famed LACONIA Bike Week in Weirs Beach, what could signify that spirit better than Bikes, Bars and Bands all in one place?  As far as I’m concerned, Nothing!

Now if you are a motorcycle enthusiast worth anything, then you already know all about Laconia Bike Week and the gathering in and around Weirs Beach.  You probably have darkened the door of The Broken Spoke and sucked down a few brews drawn from a tin wash tub out back, or walked the boardwalk perusing the shop fronts looking at the pop up tattoo parlors and airbrush T-shirt vendors.  You might have even participated in a rally or two, entered your pride and joy in a bike show, and well, let’s not forget about the races.  Let’s just say that if it has to do with motorcycles…this is the place you might want to be.

One thing that I think people often overlook about this event though is that there is a ton of killer music at Bike Week.  There are bands playing almost every night in a local bar or tent and there always seems to be a national act booked to celebrate the festivities and rock your face off.  I know I have waved a lighter high in the air for SKYNYRD and FOGHAT at “Meadowbrook” during Bike Week.  Hell, I have even personally made the trek up 93 with the local Boston band BANG CAMARO for their set at “The Spoke”, and I can attest that even if you aren’t riding in on two wheels, that this is one hell of a good time for all!

Well, this year the legendary Laconia Bike Week has stepped up their musical game.  They have organized more of a music festival to rival the bike oriented gathering.  LaconiaFest will be a multi-day event that will feature some of the biggest names in current and classic rock.  The line-up features national chart topping acts such as POP EVIL, ADELITAS WAY, SEVENDUST, DEAD BY WEDNSEDAY, EVERYBODY PANIC, ATTIKA 7, P.O.D., FUEL, SAVING ABEL and BUCKCHERRY to rock legends such as LITA FORD, BRET MICHAELS, TED NUGENT and Boston’s own bad boy STEVEN TYLER.  If that isn’t enough to get you revved up, there are also some of the best up and coming bands around on the bill for your pleasure.

There will be multiple stages, different sized venues and many different styles of music to be had.  The one thing that is for sure is this: if you don’t find something to cure that rock-n-roll fetish of yours at LaconiaFest, then you might need a rolling jump start down the hill from the drive-in!  Don’t you worry though, when you understand how great of a show this is, SIXX STRINGS will be rockin’ out right along beside you!

To get you all in the mood, SIXX STRINGS chatted with featured headliners TED NUGENT and BRET MICHAELS about music, life and coming to the Granite State for LACONIAFEST.

Take a listen and make sure you come and find the SIXX STRINGS Crew where all the fun is happening.  Because we all know, you are looking for “nothing but a good time”
