After hearing about Brian Johnson‘s hearing loss, in-ear monitor inventor Stephen Ambrose sent an open message to the singer about an upgrade to his technology that he thought could save his career.
“This is an open message to Brian Johnson of AC/DC,” Ambrose began. “Please don’t stop performing. Help is on the way.” In his video message, which you can watch here, Ambrose went on to explain the latest upgrades to his in-ear monitor technology, which was made possible by his partnership with the National Health Foundation and 64 Audio.
One month later, we’re finding out that Johnson took Ambrose up on his offer, and met up with him to try out the new technology. “It WORKS,” Johnson said in a press release. “It just totally works and you can’t argue with that. I was really moved and amazed to be able to hear music again like I haven’t heard for several years now. I can’t wait for it to be miniaturized so I can use it in every situation from normal communication, going out to noisy restaurants, to performing live music on stage.”
AC/DC fans can’t wait for it to get miniaturized, either! Unfortunately, the band just announced that Axl Rose will continue to front them for their rescheduled U.S. tour dates, but perhaps Johnson could get back on the road for next time.
