Watch Paul McCartney Perform “Hard Day’s Night” For The First Time In Over 50 Years

by Alisha Jackson

Now we totally get what Sir Paul McCartney meant when he promised that his One on One tour would have “no shortage of surprises.” Last night, he kicked off his North American tour at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, where he opened up with a song that fans have been waiting over 18,000 hard day’s nights to hear.

According to Rolling Stone, last night marked McCartney’s first ever solo performance of “A Hard Day’s Night”, as he hadn’t sung it since the Beatles last performed it on August 31st of 1965.

Last night also marked McCartney’s first performance of the Beatles hit “Love Me Do” in fifty three years, and his first time revisiting several songs that he hadn’t played in over a decade. Fingers crossed Macca surprises us out here in Boston soon!
