Ringo Starr‘s childhood home of twenty years just sold to Holmes in an auction, who already possessed the keys to George Harrison‘s childhood home and John Lennon‘s mother’s former home. Her collection remains incomplete, however, as a mystery buyer snatched Paul McCartney‘s childhood home in Speke in just six minutes during an auction held in February of last year. The only thing we know about the buyer is that it’s a “he”, which leads us to believe that it’s probably WZLX’s Breakfast With the Beatles host, Cha-chi Loprete. 😉
Ringo’s Admiral Grove home housed the drummer from the age of three to twenty-three, and it even doubled as his wedding venue in 1963. According to Detroit Newstime, Starr’s former residence was also a popular hangout for him and his Beatles bandmates, and he once squeezed 80 people into it for his 21st birthday.
In 2015, Holmes won John Lennon’s mother’s former Allerton home for £155,000, after purchasing George Harrison’s childhood home for £156,000 the previous year. “I’ve bought a Beatles house every year since 2014,” she said upon winning Ringo’s home for £70,000. “It’s not that I want to buy each Beatle’s former homes, the houses I have bought have special Beatles history.”
While Jackie plans on living in John Lennon’s mother’s former home, she is looking to rent out the other two properties. “It is lovely to own another piece of Beatles history,” Jackie said after winning Ringo’s home. “Now I’m just hoping to find a Beatles fan to rent it to who will love and appreciate it. It’s all about the peace and love.”
