When Particles Collide // Class of 2014

2014 Rock 'n' Roll Rumble

When Particles Collide are Sasha Alcott – vocals and guitar, Chris Viner – drums

When Particles Collide. Rock Duo. Emphasis on the Rock. Equal parts 90s alt, classic rock, and The Clash era punk, they are White Stripes in reverse with a precise Keith Moon on the drums and a melodic PJ Harvey on guitar and vocals.

They formed a real band after being cast in the Penobscot Theatre Company’s 2010 production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with Sasha, as a guitar playing Yitzhak and Chris as Schlatko, the band’s drummer. Of this Exeter-New Hampshire-by-way-of-Bangor-Maine band’s most recent EP, Ego, the Mooney Suzuki’s Sammy James, Jr says, “I love this EP. Somehow it manages to pull off sexy and bludgeoning at the same time. Catchy as fuck with massive riffage.”

Since forming in early 2011, When Particles Collide have released four recordings: The Mass to Energy EP, Making Enemies EP, full length LP Pop!Pop!Bang!Bang!, and the most recent, Ego, released September 2013, on Unstoppable Rock Records.
