Emma Ate The Lion are Dan Smith – lead vocals and bass, Dylan Wheaton – guitar and lead vocals, Stephen Capachione – electric pianos, organs and vocals, John O’Malley – drums and percussion

Emma Ate The Lion are a progressive/post-hardcore band from Plymouth, Mass. Formed in late 2008, the band began carving out a name for themselves with extremely energetic live shows, along with powerful and catchy songs and impressive musicianship.

With diverse musical backgrounds and the ability to write music from each instrument, the band naturally created a sound that was all their own. It’s a sound that stands out among any bill they are put on. From lead vocalist Dan Smith’s distinct voice and guitar-like bass playing, to John O’Malley’s classic and explosive drumming style, the rhythm section is very much a force to be reckoned with.

Guitarist Dylan Wheaton provides back up and co-lead vocals and adds his hybrid and very unique playing into the mix, which then leaves Steve Capachione’s madman approach to keyboards to round out the already insane sound using an instrument under-appreciated by most modern bands, which in turn adds to Emma’s throwback aesthetic.
