Whitcomb take their namesake as well as their lyrics from the 19th-century poet, James Whitcomb Riley. They are a loud rock band with influences that include Tool, Deftones, Faith No More, Queens of the Stone Age, and Radiohead.
Their music proves dark and melodious while the vocals weave a tapestry of Riley’s poems overhead. The way the band anchors the words to darkened rhythms provides the basis of the sound that serves as a reminder that this is truly the soundtrack of a man’s descent into madness.
Whitcomb is Brant Dadaleares on vocals, Sean Libby on guitar, Andy Beavis on guitar, Ryan Fleming on bass, Mark Sayer on drums.
