Answer: Crazy Nights

Here’s the rest of today’s Rock N’ Roll Diary!

  • 1981: Capricorn Records filed for bankruptcy in Georgia – Some bands who had recorded for the label included The Allman Brothers Band, and Marshall Tucker Band.
  • 1986: Bruce Springsteen walked away from the Grammy Awards with best male vocalist, best album, and male video star awards.
  • 1990: Tom Petty’s “Free Falling” peaked at #7 on the charts and it was declared “Tom Petty Day” in the star’s hometown of Gainesville, Florida.
  • 1998: Billy Joel kicked off a world tour in Portland, Maine.
  • In the WZLX ticket stash: J. Geils was at The Catacombs in 1968 and Heart played The Music Hall in 1979. Finally, in 1988 KISS (without makeup) and Ted Nugent rocked The Centrum.
