There seems to be some confusion among former Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic about their reunion at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert and what it means for the future of the band.
During the show, Paul McCartney and the surviving Nirvana members debuted their new song “Cut Me Some Slack,” which led many to believe that Nirvana was gearing for a comeback. The unlikely collaboration generated some mixed reviews from fans in the Twittersphere, who have been without Kurt Cobain since he committed suicide back in 1994.
And in a recorded interview with the Daily Beast two days after the benefit show, former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic said that he’d be open to doing a full tour with Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth as the new frontman.
Not so fast, says Dave Grohl. A spokesperson for the Foo Fighter told Page Six that the rumors are “nonsense.”
Would you be open to the idea of Nirvana reuniting with a new lead singer? Sound off in the comments section!
