It’s been over 40 years and counting since Aerosmith first stepped on the music scene, and after 15 studio efforts one member in particular is unconfident that a new album is in their future.

Released on November 6, Music From Another Dimension was the first Aerosmith album of new material since 2001′s Just Push Play. In an exclusive interview with Noisecreep, guitarist Joe Perry was asked about the ease in which their latest album was created, and if any recordings were left over from that 11-year span.

Perry responded: “We always have cool things lying around, and our attitude was, we knew we had another record in us, despite what many said, and I make no bones about it, I don’t know if we’re gonna make another record. But this is how we used to make records.”

However in the same interview, Steven Tyler noted that the way in which people listen to music is changing, and young people don’t really understand albums.

So maybe what Perry meant was that they’re not done making new music, just done making new albums. If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years it’s that you never really know with Aerosmith.
