Motley Crue singer Vince Neil has always wanted to be a pilot. Now he’ll get that chance, and it’ll all be documented as part of a new reality TV series (check local listings for air dates).
Vince Neil Escapes will follow the rocker as he finalizes his goal of becoming a pilot. Footage of his in-flight training was shot during Season 3 of The Aviators on PBS.
Throughout the new show (which has not been attached to a network yet) he’s met with stringent regulations by the FAA due to his lengthy DUI rap sheet, including the 1984 crash that took the life of Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas Dingley.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the series. It’s a great ride,” said Vince in a press release. “We do a lot of crazy partying in our travels, for sure, but what I’ve learned from this experience goes way past that. Flying has always been a huge dream for me, but the reality of learning something this disciplined has had a life-altering effect. It’s taken time for it to sink in, but I’ve definitely gone through some unexpected changes.”
