  • Happy birthday to the founding bassist of Fleetwood Mac, John McVie!
  • 1962: The Beatles’ first album Please, Please Me is recorded in one day. The album comes out in England in January of 1963.
  • 1968: Cream performs its last concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Newcomer Yes was the opening band.
  • 1975: Elton John becomes the first performer to have a concert at Los Angeles Dodger Stadium since The Beatles toured there in 1966.
  • 1980: Paul McCartney and Wings’ movie “Rockshow” premieres in New York City, containing footage of the 1976 U.S. tour.
  • 1988: Pink Floyd’s album Delicate Sound of Thunder is taken into orbit by the crew of a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
  • 1994: The Eagles’ reunion album Hell Freezes Over hits number No.1 in the U.S. on the billboard album sales chart.
