For our Thanksgiving edition of Sunday Morning Blues, we were thrilled to get a phone call from Derek Trucks for a special celebrity edition of CHOOSE YOUR BLUES!

Derek talked about Jimi Hendrix, the wife’s guitar playing and dropped the news that he won’t be returning to his Derek Trucks Band any time soon. He’s hanging tight with his wife and 11-piece band. In fact, the Tedeschi-Trucks Band is recording a second studio album right now and returns to the road for a few New England dates, which include the House of Blues on Thursday Nov. 29.

Derek then chose some tunes, including Albert King’s version of “The Sky is Crying,” and, when prompted, picked out the Tedeschi-Trucks live version of “Learn How to Love You.” Thanks Derek! We’re looking forward to that new album!
