Jimi Hendrix turns 70 this month! Had the amazing guitarist, lyricist, producer and stage performer survived, he’d be that old. What would he be doing? Who knows (pun intended), because he was already light years ahead of us back in 1970. Think of all the great music we’d have.
When Jimi died he was working on scores of songs. The collaborations that might have ensued down the road are incredible to imagine. An album with Carlos Santana? A jazz release with Miles Davis? How about a turn on blues standards with Buddy Guy? It’s no wonder the world continues to mourn the loss of this amazing, and unique, musician.
Thanks to Peter Kenny for his CHOOSE YOUR BLUES list. Peter got his songs played and we’ll send him a SMB Tee for his trouble. Get those lists to carter@wzlx.com or on the SMB Facebook page!
