In case you’ve been living in a mine shaft for the past 18 hours, you at least heard that Bill Clinton delivered his Democratic National Convention speech Wednesday night. The speech blew up on Twitter, dominating the discussion not just in Boston but nationwide, peaking at just over 22,000 tweets per minute.

Reactions to the speech in Boston were overwhelmingly positive, with most heaping praise on the former president for his generally outstanding ability to captivate at the podium. Not surprising for the capital of one of the more liberal states in the country.

Americans nationwide got reminded during the speech that whether you like/support/believe Clinton or not, the man is a damn good public speaker. He even spewed stats about job creation that turned out to be accurate! Imagine that!

This guy pointed out that he could speak on anything and make it riveting, even classic rock music.

However, the single biggest theme of tweets from Boston-area viewers was sex. Whether it was finally understanding Clinton’s infamous affair with Monica Lewinsky, or just wanting him in general, apparently Clinton’s speech was that magnetic for many of us in the city.

Another popular theme of the speech was nostalgia for the 1990s, during most of which Clinton presided over the country.

And finally, many wished Clinton would just say F it and run for President again.

What were your thoughts on Bill Clinton’s speech at the DNC Wednesday night? Let us know in the comments.
