The “Summer of Bruce” in Boston has officially begun! Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band delivered a marathon set at Fenway Park in Boston that was nothing short of spectacular, according to reviews from both critics and fans.
“Are you ready for the heartbreakin’, love-makin’, Viagra-takin’, curfew-hatin’ E Street band?” Springsteen joked to the crowd in reference to his recent run-in with U.K. police, according to a review in Rolling Stone.
Another review in the Boston Herald described the concert as the latest example of Bruce’s shows as “religious events devoted to the glory of rock,” while Boston.com said it was “a tour de force of old-school showmanship and heartfelt connection with the audience.”
Fans on Twitter seem to share the sentiments of those reviewers, generally expressing elation over the three-and-a-half-hour set.
My head hurts, my feet hurt, I have a blister, I'm exhausted. #Springsteen was amazing. Can't wait to do it again tomorrow..
