On this date in 1993, The Allman Brothers Band rocked out with Zakk Wylde at the Great Woods Ampitheatre, now known as the Comcast Center.
Wylde joined the band on guitar after their regular guitarist, Dickey Betts, was arrested in his motel room just days before for abusing his wife and police officers when they tried to arrest him. Instead of bailing Betts out, the band packed up and went on their way. This angered Betts so much that he quit the tour as soon as he was released.
Video from the show is not available, but here is an audio recording from that night in Mansfield of the band performing their hit song, Whipping Post.
