On this day in 1977, Emerson Lake & Palmer played the Boston Garden in a show that would resonate with Bostonians for years. The band’s hit single “Nutrocker” became the theme song for the Boston Bruins telecasts for many years and became synonymous with the great Bruins teams of the 1970s and 1980s.
The show took place towards the tail-end of ELP’s highly successful career together; they would break-up the following year. But still, the band will always live on in Boston and in the hearts of Bruins fans everywhere.
Here is an audio clip from that classic show of the band performing “Nutrocker,” which became a bigger hit in Boston than anybody could have imagined.
