It’s pretty rare to find Van Halen soundcheck footage (let alone with studio quality audio) from their A Different Kind Of Truth tour. But that’s exactly what has surfaced online recently.

Video of the band’s April 21st soundcheck before their Greensboro, NC show was captured on tape and matched with the soundboard audio.

The footage is in 2 parts, with David Lee Roth not seen in either video. He has a routine where he does not participate in the daily soundcheck so he can save his voice for that night’s show.

In part 1, Van Halen sans Diamond Dave goes through “Unchained,” “Runnin’ With The Devil,” “She’s The Woman” and “Tattoo.”

Part 2 offers a rare look into tracks seldom performed on tour: “As Is,” from their new album, and Van Halen II’s “Light Up The Sky.”
