This week on the show, we began with an exciting new album from the Warren Haynes Band called “Live at the Moody Theater recorded in Austin. Warren put this group together last year to explore his love of R & B that he grew up with in the South.

His rhythm section was 100% Memphis soul-steeped and Ron Holloway on sax added an exciting new solo instrument for the guitarist to work with. The tour played the area twice, at the Orpheum and last year’s Lowell Summer Music Series, and if you missed those soul shows, this new 2-CD/DVD set is just what you need!

Warren works out extended jams on every song, and the material is mostly pulled from his last “Man in Motion” studio set and a long-missed debut solo album “Tales of Ordinary Madness” from 1993. This release will get you through to Warren’s next visit to Boston, whether solo or with Gov’t Mule or the Allman Brothers Band. FYI: ABB plays the Bank of America Pavillion on August 7 & 8th, tickets on Sale May 7.
