Steven Adler On Guns N’ Roses: I Meant To Call Them “Scabs” Not “Hacks”
The former Guns N’ Roses drummer has been making headlines over the past week for expressing his feelings towards the current GNR lineup.
The controversy surrounding Guns N’ Roses lately has all been centered around the back-and-forth dialogue between members, past and present, regarding a reunion performance at the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Slash is down for it. Current member DJ Ashba would like for it to happen, and nobody is banging the drum more than original drummer Steven Adler – who foresaw this day coming when the band first started.
Adler told Artisan News (see video below), “Back then I knew we were going to get to that level of success…I just knew it was going to be something special.”
Not helping his cause whatsoever, in the interview, Steven Adler apologized once again for calling the current GNR lineup “hacks” and said what he meant to say originally was “scabs.”
“I said the wrong word. I meant to say ‘scabs.’ But, you see, ‘scabs’ are something that big factories, when the main workers would go on strike, the factory would get people off the street and they would call them scabs.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is now just 8 days away and nobody knows what’s going on. Not Slash, not Steven Adler, and not even God or the Devil themselves.
“I don’t even think God knows,” Adler said. “I asked Satan, I was talking to Satan the other day and I said ‘Dude, do you think Axl is going to show up?’ and he was like ‘Dude, I really can’t tell you.'”
We’ll just have to wait and see!
