John Fogerty Recruits Bob Seger, Foo Fighters, Country Stars For New Album

Creedence Clearwater Revival’s enduring influence on a variety of musical genres isn’t exactly difficult to pinpoint — a fact that former frontman John Fogerty is using to his advantage on his forthcoming solo record.

Titled Wrote a Song for Everyone, Fogerty’s tenth solo album will feature duets with Bob Seger, the Foo Fighters, and a whole slew of characters from the contemporary country and indie rock worlds.

While the album will feature new material from Fogerty, who recently penned the theme song for TV’s The Finder, the album revisits some of Fogerty’s most iconic songs through the years.

Seger, for example, takes on CCR hit “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” while the Foo Fighters lend Fogerty a hand with CCR’s 1969 single “Fortunate Son.”

No formal release date or tracklist for Wrote a Song for Everyone has been announced, but the album is expected this fall on Vanguard Records (Fogerty’s first with the indie label, following a storied history of fights with major labels).

The album’s full roster of guests has also yet to be announced, but the following artists are confirmed to make an appearance: Bob Seger, the Foo Fighters, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, My Morning Jacket, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert and Dawes.

Fogerty’s most recent album, The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again, was released in August 2009.

Hey there web poster person, It was great to see some Kudos for my favorite frontman, John Fogerty.
However somebody included a picture of the Ex-members of CCR on the same page as the solo Artist, John Fogerty. What a shame to see the disgruntled ex-members pics along with some disgruntled Cars members in the vicinity of a great artist and article. Those ex-guys are still performing Fogerty songs, all written by John Fogerty, so it’s like Creedence Karaoke. Getting back to John Fogerty, he is touring in Australia as we speak. Thanks for the update of his new “album”/ CD.
