Iron Maiden returns to the States this year for another round of “History of Iron Maiden” tour dates, with Alice Cooper providing support. The Comcast Center in Mansfield is one of the stops along the way.

Maiden are familiar with the Comcast Center – they’ve played there before, including a headlining slot at the 2005 OzzFest when they opened for Black Sabbath.
The tour marks another chapter in the History of Maiden campaign, which includes recreations of classic concerts. This one will recreate most of the original setlist from Iron Maiden’s classic concert album/film Maiden England.
According to frontman Bruce Dickinson, expect at least two-thirds of the following in the set:
“Moonchild”
“The Evil That Men Do”
“The Prisoner”
“Still Life”
“Die With Your Boots On”
“Infinite Dreams”
“Killers”
“Heaven Can Wait”
“Wasted Years”
“The Clairvoyant”
“Seventh Son of a Seventh Son”
“The Number of the Beast”
“Iron Maiden”
Fans of classic pre-1990s Maiden (there are millions) will be very pleased with that set. I can be assumed they will sprinkle in newer material from albums like 2010′s The Final Frontier, but it’s clear that the band’s intention here is to show appreciation for the classics.
Alice Cooper will be the supporting act for the first half of the tour, which does include Mansfield. So any “School’s Out” fans will not be disappointed come June! Cooper also just announced he will make a surprise appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee.
Will you be grabbing a ticket to Iron Maiden & Alice Cooper at the Comcast Center? Let us know in the comments.
