Na Hoaloha, or Neighbors Helping Neighbors, is a Maui-based non-profit organization that recruits local volunteers to donate their time in visiting the elderly, transporting them, and provide caregiving.
The Red Rocker did his part, making a $5000 donation.
“There are people that need immediate help. I’m a grassroots guy. The day I write the check, the next day I want to have someone benefit from it.”
Na Hoaloha’s Mission Statement is simple:
“Our Mission is to provide compassionate care for seniors to enable them to remain in their homes and independent for as long as possible.”
Executive Director Gerri Shapiro was more than pleased with the rock n’ roll donation, and will put it to immediate use.
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors will put these funds to immediate use helping seniors to remain in their homes and independent and to enhance the quality of their lives.”
Don’t you just love a feel-good story?
