After Rolling Stone’s recent reader’s poll got skewed by gaggles of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Green Day[/lastfm] fans, who pushed the teenybopper punk rockers past legends like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Clash[/lastfm], it’s time for you to give us a re-vote! What band really deserves the title “Best Punk Band of All Time?”

Rolling Stone recently asked fans to vote for the best punk band of all time. Shockingly, Green Day took the #1 spot over the rest of the decidedly more influential nominees like The Clash, The Sex Pistols and The Ramones.

Fan site Green Day Authority and the band’s official site at GreenDay.com both posted the link asking fans to vote for the band, which resulted in the poll being flooded with votes for the makers of modern mainstream hits like “American Idiot.”

Considering the all-time classic acts (not to mention, direct influences) they beat out on the list, it’s only reasonable to give ZLX fans a do-over!
