Paul McCartney spoke with Absolute Radio’s Geoff Lloyd about the recent knighting of TV personality Bruce Forsyth by Queen Elizabeth II.
After noting that he felt that Ringo Starr would have been a better candidate for the honor, he went on to talk about The Beatles.
“Basically me, George and Ringo said, ‘Does this have to be final?'”, McCartney started, talking about the decision to breakup the band.
“‘Could we do a couple of gigs or can we think about this tomorrow?'”, he continued. “But John was off with Yoko and he was saying, ‘No, no, it’s great, I feel a release’ and all that. So that was kind of final.”
McCartney also revealed recently that he and Lennon had a chance to reunite in the 1970s as part of a special SNL performance, but turned down the opportunity.
Now it sounds as if John was the one who rejected the idea, not Paul! What do you think?
