[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Black Sabbath[/lastfm] bassist Geezer Butler released a statement today on the potential Black Sabbath reunion that had been rumored of late.

Unfortunately, Geezer has shot down the idea of a Black Sabbath reunion happening, in terms of a tour or a new album.

The statement on Geezer’s official website reads: “I would like to make it clear, because of mounting speculation and rumors, that there will be definitely NO reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour.”

And he doesn’t specify that the potential reunion wouldn’t happen this year, opening up the possibility for a reunion in future years. But he appears to have defused the rumors entirely.

Hopefully he’s just messing with us, so the reunion announcement would be that much more epic. But it seems like Geezer’s had enough of all the questions he’s being asked about it, and decided to put them to rest.

For now, we’ll have to live with what we’ve got…Like:
