As ZLX continues its push to bring [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]U2[/lastfm] to Boston, fresh rumors have surfaced due to an interesting upcoming summer schedule.
A recent article in the Boston Herald reported that the Red Sox applied for a permit to hold concerts on June 11 and 12, when the team is out of town to play in Toronto.

The article suggests that the permit is intended for the New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys summer tour, but the boy bands have already booked shows in other cities for those dates…So you can exhale now.
U2 not only has June 11 and 12 free, but they have ten days between shows in Oakland and Anaheim free to do whatever.
Maybe it means they’ll just be going on vacation, or maybe it means they’re planning something big for us at Fenway!
Perhaps our Facebook campaign to bring U2 to Boston is starting catch on…Hey, it’s the least they can do for Carter Alan!
