Legendary guitarist Brian May celebrates his 63rd birthday today! Well done that man. Still brandishing his custom ‘Red Special’ and performing around the world, the musician has done more in the last few years than most bands manage in a lifetime, including touring with a reformed Queen, making We Will Rock You a global phenomenon as well as bolstering his reputation as an astronomer.
Last.fm Trends thought it worthy to celebrate the great man’s hairdo life by dusting off some of May and Queen’s finest…
Though overshadowed with his success with Queen, May’s solo work has been scrobbling well for a while now. Laced with the kind of riffs that made Queen so popular, May’s back catalog boasts classic tracks like ‘Driven By You‘, ‘Back To the Light‘ and ‘Too Much Love Will Kill You‘, all of which see hundreds of listeners scrobbling them every week.
Still, perhaps many would probably agree that May’s finest hour can be heard in Queen’s most scrobbled track ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. The epic rock track seems to straddle genres, with music lovers everywhere scrobbling it in their thousands every week. Boasting 4,029,022 scrobbles to date it’s a testament to the musician’s status as a living legend and the enduring appeal of Queens’ work that it still gets so many plays.
So Happy Birthday Brian! You can check out more of his classic anthems on Last.fm Trends. Remember, Last.fm counts every track you play, every time you play it, using the songs you love to help you discover more music.
